Welcome to the Seven Seed Sowers recipe book!

​​Below you will find recipes brought to you by either members of the co-op or recipes submitted by customers. If you would like to submit your own recipe you can do so below. When submitting a recipe please provide the servings, ingredients, directions, and a photo of the dish. 
Vegetarian chili

Vegetarian Chili 

Servings: 8
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • ¾ cup chopped carrots
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • ¾ cup chopped celery
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 ½ cups chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes with liquid, chopped
  • 1 (19 ounce) can kidney beans with liquid
  • 1 (11 ounce) can whole kernel corn, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 ½ teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 ½ teaspoons dried basil​​

Directions 
  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Sauté onions, carrots, and garlic in hot oil until tender. Add bell peppers, celery, and chili powder. Cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender, about 6 minutes.
  2. Stir in mushrooms and cook until softened, about 4 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, kidney beans, and corn. Season with cumin, oregano, and basil. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Apple pie

Apple Pie 

Servings: 8
Ingredients 
  • 1 (14.1 ounce) package pastry for a 9-inch double-crust pie
  • ¾ cup white sugar, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1 tablespoon butter
Directions 
  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  2. Line a 9-inch pie dish with one pastry crust; set second one aside.
  3. Combine 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Add more sugar if your apples are tart.
  4. Layer apple slices in the prepared pie dish, sprinkling each layer with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Dot top layer with small pieces of butter. Cover with top crust.
  6. Bake pie on the lowest rack of the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking until golden brown and filling bubbles, 30 to 35 minutes more.
  7. Serve warm or cold.

chicken quesadilla 

Chicken Quesadilla 

Servings: 2
Ingredients 
  • 4 flour tortillas (8 inches)
  • 2 teaspoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 package (9 ounces) frozen diced cooked chicken, thawed and chopped
Directions 
  1. Brush one side of each tortilla with butter.
  2. Place two tortillas, buttered side down, on a griddle; sprinkle with cheese, onion, tomato and chicken.
  3. Top with remaining tortillas, buttered side up.
  4. Cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until lightly browned.
  5. Cut into wedges.
